Award Winning

We developed Alta in collaboration with Workstories as a flexible table system for contemporary workplaces.
Rather than designing separate products for different settings, Alta was conceived as one coherent family capable of moving between coffee, boardroom and poser heights, while maintaining the same distinctive character throughout. At the heart of the system is a deliberately simple architecture. Just 10 structural components can be combined to create 84 configurations, covering tables from 1.6m to 4.8m in length.
The Alta range gives specifiers greater choice without introducing unnecessary complexity into manufacturing.

A key part of Alta's design is the way the legs are manufactured. The full-height poser leg is produced from a single forming tool. The same component can then be progressively trimmed to create the boardroom-height and coffee-height versions.
Instead of creating separate tooling for each table type, one core process produces all three heights, simplifying production while maintaining consistency across the entire collection.
Between the legs, a telescopic structural beam allows the same core components to accommodate a wide range of table lengths. The beam expands as required, while tops are cut to suit each individual configuration.
Power and data can be integrated discreetly within the central structure, keeping cables organised and allowing the table to support different ways of meeting and working without compromising its visual simplicity.

We've had the pleasure of working with the team at Jones + Partners for over five years, and they’ve consistently delivered outstanding results. Their design work has been central to several award-winning products in our portfolio, and their creativity and attention to detail have directly contributed to millions of pounds in sales. They’ve become a trusted and valued partner, and we look forward to many more collaborations.

Alta's shared tooling strategy reduces the number of unique components and manufacturing processes required across the range. The formed components use FSC-certified wooden veneers, with the same core production approach shared across all three heights.
Fewer tools, fewer unique parts and a common construction method help reduce production complexity and material waste while making the range easier to manufacture, specify and evolve over time.
Informal coffee settings, to large boardrooms, Alta maintains the same proportions, material language, and recognisable silhouette. Rather than treating each table as an individual product, the system creates a consistent visual language across the workplace, allowing spaces with very different functions to feel connected through one adaptable collection.

Before a design brief even exists, we help uncover the opportunity. This phase is about asking the right questions - what does your portfolio need, where is the market heading, and how can your product make a difference? Through workshops, research, and strategic mapping, we identify ideas that align with user needs and commercial goals. It’s where good design starts - with clarity, not assumptions.
Getting the strategy right upfront is the difference between a great idea and a great result. Many of our most successful product launches have begun here - with insight, not instinct.

With a clear opportunity and direction, we shape the brief and map out each project phase. Then we get to work - diving into research, gathering user insights, and exploring trends to guide creative development.
From sketching early ideas to building digital models, we prototype thoughts fast and visually. We test how it looks, feels, and functions, all while keeping feasibility in mind.
The design phase ends with a compelling presentation, rich in visuals and backed by insight, showing multiple concepts that balance creativity with commercial potential.

Phase 1 Sign Off

Here’s where ideas take shape. We select the strongest concept(s) and build realistic, full-scale prototypes using processes that mirror how the final product will be made. This gives clients, users, and our team something to interact with, test, and refine.
We adapt to different manufacturing methods and collaborate closely with suppliers to ensure accuracy, practicality, and cost-efficiency. At the same time, we begin shaping supply chains and exploring initial tooling and production costs.
All findings are consolidated into a design pack that moves the project forward with confidence.

This is where the product becomes real. Every detail is reviewed, every challenge resolved, until the design is both ready to manufacture and fit for purpose.
Working with your team or managing the process end-to-end,
we iterate prototypes and CAD data to meet all requirements: performance, cost, production, and aesthetic.
We also support supply chain setup, whether integrating with your partners or sourcing new ones, ensuring quality and competitive pricing. The result: a full pre-production pack including drawings, BOMs, and a final prototype that’s ready for sign-off.
